Sean Cotter has translated several books of Romanian poetry and prose, including Lilian Ursu's Lightwall (winner of a PEN Southwest Book Award
for Translation) and Goldsmith Market. His translation of Wheel With a Single Spoke by Nichita Stănescu received the 2013 Best Translated Book Award
Winner in Poetry. Currently Associate Professor of Literature and Literary Translation at UT Dallas, he is the recipient of
NEA and Fulbright fellowships, and the Institute for Romanian Culture has honoroed him for his "extraordinary contributions to the promotion of Romanian literature
through translation."
