Stephan Delbos is a New England-born writer living in Prague. He earned his BA in literature from Providence College, an MFA in poetry
from New England College, and a PhD from Charles University. A Founding Editor of the literary journal
BODY, his poetry, essays, and translations from Czech have been published in a wide variety of
venues in both English and Czech, including Asymptote,
BlazeVOX, The Brooklyn Quarterly,
Paris Lit Up, and Zoland Poetry.
He is the editor of From a Terrace in Prague: A Prague Poetry Anthology
(Litteraria Pragensia, 2011), and author of the poetry chapbook In Memory of Fire
(Cape Cod Poetry Review, 2016) and poetry collection Light Reading
(BlazeVOX, 2019). Tanec v různých hlasech, a collection of his poems in Czech translation (by poet Tereza Riedelbauchová), was
published by Literární salon in 2017. In addition, his play Chetty's Lullaby, about jazz trumpeter Chet Baker, was produced in
San Francisco in 2013 and his collection of visual poems, “Bagatelles for Typewriter,” was exhibited at Prague’s ArtSpace Gallery in 2012.
Delbos currently teaches at Charles University and Anglo-American University in Prague.
